Patent interpretation is complex and there are a lot of misperceptions out there in discussions on this issue. Having been involved in the e-Learning arena for years and witnessed so many advancements from a variety of sources, I continue to be embarrassed when it is suggested that Blackboard is claiming to have invented e-Learning or the CMS/VLE. Nothing could be further from the truth. So with these materials we have aimed to capture the key question areas in this discussion and provide information in a few different formats.
