Carnegie Mellon Peacemaker

If we are to believe what the media tells us, all games are violent and promote only the most simplistic solutions to problems. But if you are reading this, you likely have heard of games like The Sims, Civ (2,3), Black or White and a host of others that do not rely on violence to "win". Now there is another, from the Entertainment Technology Center at Carnegie Mellon called Peacemaker (Peacemaker Game,Peacemaker PR). Peacemaker looks to help people understand the conflict in the Middle East and attempt to mitigate it in a peaceful manner. This seems like a very focused and refined version of Civ where the open ended nature has been removed and there is only one true win state. I hope it does well though. Technorati Tags: ,
