Fall of DRM

After reading a story about how the DRM dream cable of the content producers of the world HDMI may be a non starter in terms of how it was meant to be used, Apple may be in more DRM trouble in Europe as Scandanavia wants FairPlay opened up and songs from iTMS to be playable anywhere. I don't think it's only Apple, but the entire DRM idea in general that is going to be challenged - afterall if the most flexible DRM is challenged, what will happen to the most restrictive?
