In the way back machine

One of the clues that Apple may have been looking at Intel since the start of OS X wasn't so much the "Maklar" project, but the fact that Darwin - the UNIX distro that is beneath OS X was released for Intel machine way back in 2001! Take a look at this: Darwin for Intel Chris Coleman Apr. 13, 2001 01:18 PM Apple's new OS, Mac OS X, is currently only supported on Mac hardware; however, with today's release of Darwin 1.3.1, that may soon change.
